Honorable Mention – Regina JonesRegina came to the South County Homeless Shelter in 2004 after living in a park for six months. She had become homeless after escaping an abusive relationship. She later applied and was accepted to the South County Sober Housing Project where she spent 12 months taking care of herself and healing from her past. Despite the fact that Regina has been deaf since birth and has mental health issues she has shown great strength and courage in overcoming her obstacles and has chosen to live life to its fullest. Since 2003 she has been a participant of the RISE program and has remained exceptionally compliant on every level. Her story exemplifies what BOSS stands for. Due to serious health problems, Regina is not able to participate in this year’s graduation.
